    Programs and Activities

An annual Hobo Dinner is held as a fundraiser in January featuring the best beef stew in Northern California. The funds from this project aid in the donations the unit makes to programs such as the annual Spring party, the December Holiday party and the annual Summer picnic/barbecue held at the Veterans Home in Yountville, California. Other programs include donations to the Fisher House at Travis Airforce Base, Chapel of the Four Chaplains, the USO and several others, most notably the Girls State program. Unit #208 sends one Girl's State delegate each year to Southern California for one week to learn and participate in this program which teaches them about our legislative and government system.

Bingo is hosted by the Auxiliary every fourth Monday of the month at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Dixon. These funds are used to donate one scholarship each to a student from the Dixon High School and the Maine Prairie High School.

The Auxiliary also participates in community events to raise the visibility of patriotism and dedication to our veterans. We provide a color guard to march in Dixon's annual May Fair Parade.
